As a regional revitalization project centered on Lake Kawaguchi and the northern foothills of Mt. Fuji, we will utilize the hidden charms of the region and our connections with various local businesses to carry out activities that contribute more to the local community.
Japanese Culture Creation Research House Inc. has developed many experience programs in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Yamanashi Prefecture, to convey the charms of the region, cherishing Japan’s unique culture and the spirit of “omotenashi” (hospitality) that is unique to Japan. The programs, which combine the charms of the northern foothills of Mt. Fuji and its precious local resources, lead to the dissemination of the charms of the region and the discovery of local resources. By experiencing the rich resources of Yamanashi, such as “senchado,” “sado,” and “traditional crafts,” which are unique to Japan, and “afternoon tea” and “wine tasting,” which allow you to enjoy the spirit of “omotenashi” (hospitality) that is unique to Japan, more customers are able to learn about the charms of Yamanashi and Kawaguchiko.
Currently, he is engaged in business production and consulting related to regional revitalization (Kawaguchiko TUBOMIwedding, Kawaguchiko-kurashi brand, old house restoration) and educational business (running a cram school). In order to boost regional businesses that have declined due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he produced weddings that contribute to regional revitalization by utilizing local Yamanashi ingredients, wine, human resources, and companies. He also held an inbound food experience wedding that incorporated Japanese culture for foreign visitors to Japan, and realized the possibility of regional revitalization through the wedding business. He is currently taking on new projects in order to make further leaps forward.
１. Wedding Business
An overseas-style wedding held in the lakeside gardens of Lake Kawaguchi amid the beautiful nature of the northern foothills of Mt. Fuji. The wedding business run by Japanese Culture Creation Research House Inc. has a mysterious atmosphere that is different from resort weddings held on the seaside. With the support of an international planner with a long track record both in Japan and overseas, gorgeous and beautiful venue decorations by the floral artists of ELSOL, who have won awards at international competitions in France, and by teaming up with local businesses, we will realize a one-of-a-kind wedding that makes the most of the best of Lake Kawaguchi in Yamanashi. In addition, in 2024 we will open “THE LAKE kawaguchiko-kurashi,” a traditional Japanese house accommodation that can be rented as a wedding venue. It is now possible to enjoy a stay at a lakeside resort while experiencing a Japanese atmosphere.
2. Accommodation business
We have renovated a 60-year-old traditional house located on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi, adjacent to the Ashiwada Hotel, and opened our first accommodation facility, “THE LAKE Kawaguchiko-kurashi.” This charming traditional house is a valuable place to experience traditional Japanese life in Lake Kawaguchi, a popular spot for inbound tourists. The large facility can be used as a rental space for events and training, as well as for family and group accommodation. It is spacious enough to accommodate 40-50 people, and has a garden and parking lot, so it can also be used as a traditional house wedding venue. We plan to continue expanding our accommodation business. Please look forward to the opening of our second building.
３. Japanese Culture Experience Program
A Japanese culture experience project was started in Lake Kawaguchi, Yamanashi, which is popular with inbound tourists, to allow more overseas visitors to experience Japanese culture. Various Japanese culture experiences are available, such as kimono dressing and tea ceremony. From 2024, a Japanese culture experience will start in a newly opened old house. A wide lineup will be developed with new experiences such as agricultural experiences and traditional craft making.
４. Food experience business
The wedding, where guests can enjoy the beautiful views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi while enjoying dishes made with locally grown ingredients paired with Yamanashi wine, has proved popular among inbound wedding guests, and so the company is expanding its services to allow more enjoyment of Japanese food experiences. The company is increasing the number of dining experiences, lodging, and meal menu development using ingredients grown in the fields of an old house in front of the lakeside garden, as well as menus cooked with freshly picked vegetables and experience programs where guests can take home freshly picked vegetables, in order to propose food experiences that allow guests to experience the deliciousness of Yamanashi ingredients and the quality of the place where they are grown.
