“THE LAKE Kawaguchiko-Kurashi is a private rental accommodation housed in a beautifully renovated 60-year-old traditional Japanese kominka.
The property features both a first and second floor, and the entire house is reserved exclusively for one group at a time, ensuring complete privacy throughout your stay.

The Japanese-style tatami room, located on the first floor, is a serene and authentic space featuring a traditional chado tea-ceremony hearth (ro). Soft natural light filters gently through shoji screens, while the calm presence unique to a historic kominka creates an atmosphere that naturally soothes the mind.
In this room, guests may enjoy optional Japanese cultural experiences, including a traditional tea ceremony, during their stay. Even those new to sitting on tatami are welcome—each experience is carefully guided to ensure comfort and ease for all participants. Take this opportunity to immerse yourself in Japan’s refined sense of beauty and quietude, and enjoy a truly special moment during your stay.
During the winter months, a kotatsu is set up in the tatami room, transforming it into an even more relaxing space. Experience the warmth and comfort of traditional Japanese living, unique to the colder season.

On the first floor, guests will find a shower room (without a bathtub) and a dedicated vanity area. Designed with simplicity and cleanliness in mind, this space is ideal for daily grooming or refreshing yourself after light activities.
The shower area is fully stocked with essential amenities to ensure a comfortable stay, including shampoo, conditioner, body soap, bath towels, face towels, body towels, a toothbrush set, hairbrush, cotton swabs, a hair dryer, and slippers.
For guests planning to visit the nearby hot spring at Ashiwada Hotel, a convenient dedicated basket is provided. Simply place your towels and change of clothes inside and head out with ease. Samue loungewear is also available in the guest room, perfect for relaxing after a hot spring visit or enjoying a peaceful moment indoors.

On the second floor, three bedrooms with distinct atmospheres are thoughtfully arranged. Each room offers views that reflect the natural beauty of Lake Kawaguchi, allowing you to relax and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep while taking in the ever-changing scenery from day to night.
The bedrooms are furnished with premium Simmons beds—two single beds and two double beds—along with six sets of traditional Japanese futons. Depending on the number of guests and your preferred sleeping arrangement, futons can be laid out either in the first-floor tatami room or beside the double beds in the main bedroom on the second floor, offering flexibility to suit your stay.
Careful attention has been given to each space to ensure every guest can rest comfortably. Surrounded by the calm presence unique to a traditional kominka and the comfort of high-quality bedding, unwind and gently restore yourself from the day’s travels.
